The modern plastic surgery seeks to moderate facial aging procedures through smaller, less aggressive procedures, diagnosed earlier and using simplified anesthesia and providing faster recovery. The main philosophy is to solve problems as they appear rather than waiting for a big facial aging and then initiate corrective actions. This behavior offers more natural and harmonious results with a much quieter recovery for patients. Several of the factors involved in aging of the face may be mitigated by the surgical procedure, while others will require ancillary procedures.
Surgery is indicated mainly for dry traction and structures (skin and muscles) that have fall and sagging. Other conditions such as the quality and texture of skin blemishes, wrinkles and pronunced furrows can only be mitigated with a combination of other techniques (peels, Botox, Laser). When there is sagging skin, down the deep structures of the face, the indicated procedure is the Mini-Facelift. This surgical technique has been constantly improved, and the results today are much better than used to be. Lately, is no longer accepted the skin to be pulled very tight and their hair pulled back.
The concept is to rejuvenate naturally, restructuring the deeper part of the face, with smaller scars and more camouflaged. The mini facelift is a technique that removes the marks of the past, leaving minimal scars that blend with the natural contours of the face, restoring the harmony.
usually men and women over 40 years, although some patients in thirty- forty can also benefit from this procedure.
Approximately 240 minutes.
Local with intravenous sedation performed by the anesthesiologist.
About 6-12 hours after the procedure.
Back to work: 10 to 14 days. More strenuous activities: two weeks or more. Bruising: 2 to 3 weeks. Avoid sun exposure for two months.
Disguising wrinkles, furrows and creases. Rejuvenate the face. Bring facial balance.
There are different variations. The incision is usually placed in front and behind the ear, hidden in the natural folds. From the incision behind the ear goes into the scalp, hidden by the hair. The earlobe should be free and natural, avoiding a stretched appearance. Sometimes a small incision under the chin can be used to help correct the neck muscles. If necessary the deep structures of the face and neck may also be repositioned. The skin is pulled up and back and the excess is removed. The appearance should look normal and not stretched.
Local edema usually disappear after three weeks and bruises disappear spontaneously after 2 weeks. Complications of plastic face are infrequent. Some incisions may be due to variations in visible scarring and may need to be retouched.
